Services Provided By The School:

IAT=> Individualized Assistance Team
This team is comprised of the parent, classroom teacher, Assistant principal or case manger, and any other specialist needed to service the child. This team meeting is the first step in the official administrative intervention of a child’s academic evaluation and progress.

CSE=> Case study Evaluation
This is an in-depth look at the whole child. This evaluation requires written consent form the parent\guardian, an interview by the school nurse and social worker of both the child and parent\guardian, and psychological testing completed by the school psychologist. This evaluation is the second step in the official administrative intervention. The CSE determines whether a child is eligible for special education services.

IEP=> Individualized Education Program
This is an educational program developed especially for the child in question. This IEP is done on two levels, one is in the classroom by the general education teacher (for at risk students and high potential students). The second IEP is
developed for the special education student.



Community Services:

Metropolitan Family Services => This social
service agencies had been in the South Chicago
area since 1985. They provide six different
programs.

This health resource is able to provide
hearing and vision screenings, physical
examinations, and immunizations.

Russell Square Park => This is a branch of the
Chicago Park Districts and provides a number of
after-school, weekend, and summer activities for
neighborhood children.
